Dude. You posted it! What do you expect? I'll take the middle and then the right in that order. Anyway, not a bad shot. Candids are the best. No faked expressions.

Attempt to frame with very little foreground distractions:
Question: any tool to reduce fogginess like in the city scape shot or brighten the helicopter shot without overkilling the contrast? |

| For those car racing shots, you'll need to lower the shutter speed when you pan. If the wheels have no motion blur, you basically have a image of a car that's still. |

yeah i kinda feel the same way, which is why i didn't use a noise reduction software lol. ISO was 1600. =/ I'm used to the low light capabilities of a D300/D700, that's why i'm a little disappointed with the D200 haha. |

I bought two 580 EX II Speedlites before I bought an Alien Bees B1600, a Vagabond II, and 47" softbox.
I sort of wished I had bought into Alien Bees before getting the 2nd 580 EX II, especially when the price of a single 580 EX II at ~$425 can easily pay for a B1600 or a B800+modifier (e.g. beauty dish).
Then I thought about selling one of my 580 EX II units to pay for a second AB strobe, but I realized that I liked having the two Speedlites for the flexibility / portability you can get with small flashes. It's nice to be able to just go "high speed, low drag" with a pair of Speedlites and umbrellas. Simple, portable, and very flexible, especially with High Speed Sync (thanks to the PocketWizard MiniTT1/FlexTT5 system, which should be making it's way to Nikon soon).
Thus, I plan on keeping my two 580 EX II flashes. The flexibility is definitely handy.
But yes, I understand the dilemma of Speedlight/Speedlite vs studio strobes. |

maybe it's just me, but the two pics don't look sharp at all? nice bokeh in the 2nd pic though. |

^ I think its more prominent in the first picture, I think I focused on the wrong portion of the plant.
In the second one i think it may have been the shutter sending a bit too fast >.>
In both, I thought that bit of blurriness might have been my eyes playing tricks on me.
UGH... thanks for the crit, will look out for that in the future |
